Social Spotlight: Beauty by Chloe

In a growing generation of female entrepreneurs, we want to shine light on Chloe Majdipour, an aspiring 22 year old makeup and hair stylist and future student of UCLA Law. We interview Chloe on it all:

Tell us about the start of BeautybyChloe.

I started BeautybyChloe 1 & ½ years ago after about 2 years of practicing makeup on both others and myself. I was hesitant to start my page because I was only doing makeup on the side while being a full time student and I didn’t have a plan as to what I would post or how often. However, I knew if I waited until I was “ready” I would never do it. So, I created some makeup looks, took some photos and began posting my work. Starting BeautybyChloe was a way for me to branch out of my comfort zone and begin building a portfolio that would showcase my talent.

When did you realize this was your passion and how did you make it a business?

Becoming a makeup artist was very gradual for me but my love for makeup began instantly the minute I watched my first beauty video on YouTube. Learning about all things makeup & hair was almost an addiction for me. I was fascinated by everything about the beauty industry and after religiously studying and researching products, techniques and trends I began practicing on different faces and experimenting with colors and formulas. In the beginning doing hair and makeup was a hobby but eventually, as my work spread on social media and through word of mouth, it became a business. I knew this was a passion of mine because of the inexplicable joy I felt while doing it. There is no greater feeling than being able to express myself creatively while giving someone else confidence, self-esteem and enhancing the beauty that they already have.

What are your current focuses aside from BeautybyChloe right now?

Aside from being a makeup artist, it has always been a dream of mine to go to law school. I will be attending UCLA law school in the Fall after taking a year off to focus on my BeautybyChloe.

What advice can you give for people who are pursuing two different passions?

It’s been difficult to juggle both BeautybyChloe & school at times especially because they are two very different worlds but my heart is definitely in both. My advice to others who are in the same position would be to always keep your options open and remember that anything is possible. Work hard and have faith that everything will fall into place.

What are your top 3 favorite make-ups you swear by!

Nars Creamy Concealer- This concealer is perfect for under eyes as well as covering up redness or blemishes. So creamy and perfect color range, this is definitely my go to face product.

L’Oreal Telescopic Mascara – If I could only wear one makeup product for the rest of my life it would be this! It lengthens, separates & volumizes and almost makes you look like you’re wearing falsies.

Dose of Colors Matte Liquid Lipstick in “Truffle” – Best lipstick shade & formula. It’s long lasting but still comfortable on the lips and the color is the perfect mauve-nude shade.
